Yixing Zisha Clay Classification

Purple Clay

Category Introduction: Purple Clay (Zi Ni) is the most core and common type of clay in Yixing Zisha. Its raw ore is purplish-brown, with a warm texture and a strong sandy feel. The high iron content and loose granular structure inside the clay form a unique double-porosity structure. This gives Purple Clay teapots excellent breathability and thermal conductivity, perfectly preserving the color, aroma, and taste of tea during brewing. After long-term use and care, the pot's luster becomes increasingly warm and glossy, showing significant transformation.
